lEADERSHIP
As with other residences on campus, Huis Neethling also provides its students with an opportunity to be involved in management and provide leadership within the house.
At Huis Neethling, we believe that it is important to foster leadership skills amongst our students. As a sports residence, we therefore encourage our students to participate in the leadership within the house. Huis Neethling’s leadership structure accommodates a variety of leadership styles, personalities, skills and sporting codes; therefore each member of the house is given a fair opportunity to serve the house in a position that appeals to them and in doing so, also acquiring beneficial life skills along the way.
House Committee
The House Committee (more commonly known as HK) consists of democratically elected Huis Neethling residents who are 2nd year or higher. Each member of this committee has a portfolio and manages certain aspects of the residence throughout the year. Please click on the “HK 2016/2017” sub-tab for more information regarding Huis Neethling’s HK and their respective portfolios.
Mentors
Mentors are residents chosen from different areas of study and sporting codes that help first year student athletes to register, find their classes, manage their schedules and provide academic and moral support, and generally help them to navigate through their first year at Stellenbosch University.
